Sweet & Savory Saturdays #40


Hey Ladies!  We need to talk... I am not sure where to start.  Basically, I love you all for linking up with me every week.  I am really sad & sorry that I haven't been able to get around to comment on everyone's posts because you are all so talented!  I really do miss out when I don't do my rounds, but with my blog growing like it is, I am getting overwhelmed & I am going to have to quit the link party.  Not sure if that is going to upset anyone really?  It seems like it's kind of fizzling out anyway & I want this party to be worth your time, which I am not so sure it is anymore.  So, I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for sticking by me & sharing your creativity week after week!  I hope to bump into you all every now & then in cyber space & see what you are up to.  Thanks again for being so great!

P.S. In case you didn't know, I had my 2 year blogiversary on Wednesday.  I am finally getting around to really sitting down & learning how to move my site over to wordpress & hopefully do a re-design as well.  I will be working on it hard core in January in preparation for Build Your Blog Conference in February.  So I hope you come back to visit me & hopefully see an improved site.  Gosh this all sounds so depressing...

Sweet & Savory Saturdays #37


Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!  We trick-or-treated for 1 hour.  The kids were struggling after 30 minutes, haha, but we wanted to visit a good portion of our neighborhood.  Then they helped pass out candy to the kids who came to our house.  They loved it!  Unfortunately the hype has turned them into little devils today.  Not eating their food, asking for juice & candy.  MONSTERS I tell ya!  Oh well.  I'm so glad it's daylight savings this weekend & we can get an extra hour of sleep, or try to.  Going to keep the kids up a little later & tire them out by playing hard.  Hopefully it works! 



I am actually excited about November!  I love Thanksgiving food!  Bring it on!  I have even started doing the Insanity workouts this week, so I won't gain too much over the holidays.  Got to get back into my workout routine!  Haha.  With that said, here are the features of some lovely fall dishes, most of which can be used for Thanksgiving!  Once again, I am pinning these to my favorite collaborative board on Pinterest & last week I even shared them on my FB page.  I might try & do that each week as well.  Thanks for linking up with me!  Have a super fun weekend!

Sweet & Savory Saturdays #36


Can you all believe that Halloween is next week.  Gosh!  I am a pretty good planner when it comes to meals & blog stuff, but I am horrible at getting ready for holidays.  I haven't really decorated & I just barely bought a pumpkin to carve.  We are going to a pumpkin patch with my son's preschool on Halloween day, so I didn't want to buy a bunch of pumpkins to carve if we would be getting more.  But we haven't carved the one we do have yet & you all would make fun of my bare, ugly front porch.  

Basically I used to hang my wreaths & stuff on our front door until we put a peep hole in (due to unwanted solicitors who can't read the no soliciting sign.)  So I can't put my decorations on the door anymore or I can't see through the peephole.  Sad day, I know.  So I have a little scarecrow on my coat closet door right now, & that's about it.  I haven't really bought decorations since we bought our house.  When we lived in apartments I just didn't decorate because I didn't want to haul it everywhere we moved, but I just haven't brought myself to decorate yet.  Haha.  Maybe I will buy the clearance stuff for next year :)

Sweet & Savory Saturdays #35


Hey ladies!  Hooray for the weekend!  It's actually my husband's birthday on Sunday.  He is turning 29!  I still haven't bought him anything yet, but I am taking the kids shopping tonight after he leaves for a scout overnighter.  Sad for him that he has to do that for his birthday weekend.  Hopefully I can find something good to get him.  As for his birthday dessert, he asked for a Piña Colada.  Haha!  Since I have been baking a lot for the blog, he told me he is temporarily sick of sweets, but it's his treat, so he gets what he wants.
